Year 5 and 6 had three wonderful days visiting Machester. On the way they called at Quarry Bank Mill learning about the life of Victorian children who worked in the cotton mill. They stayed at the Youth Hostel on Potato Wharf. While in Manchester, they went ice skating, indoor skydiving and had a chinese meal at a restaurant. They also visited the Manchester City Art Gallery, Science Museum, the Imperial War Museum, the Lowery Centre and had a tour of the BBC studios.
In Literacy, we used drama to act out a battle scene from Macbeth. The activity enabled us to empathise with characters from the play which we then used to help us in our writing.
